Meet the horses

Ace - Skewbald mare
Ace is a cob x thoroughbred on loan to Danielle all the way from the Isle of Bute where she grew up with Merlin and Mac. She is Danielle’s competition horse and loves to jump. You may also see her in a few lessons with more advanced riders.

Ben - grey welsh section A
Ben a little Welsh section A and was one of our first ponies. He used to be a lead rein hunting pony and pony racer but is now the perfect beginners pony. But don’t let him fool you – he can outpace most of the ponies on the beach!

Buttons - black dartmoor hill pony
Buttons is a Dartmoor Hill pony on loan to us from Edinburgh. She’s a sturdy girl and loves nothing better than eating and going slowly. You’ll often find her fast asleep in her stable snoring away.

Hamish black cob
Hamish is a lovely little laidback but athletic cob who everyone loves. He loves to jump and has the most wonderful canter. He can even smile on command.

Lola is an old fashioned stocky cob who was backed at the yard. She likes to pretend she is a plod but given encouragement is a good jumper.

Magic irish cob
Magic is an Irish cob who is anyone’s ride. She is nice and responsive and a perfect confidence giver for all ages.

Now gone to a lovely private home

Marko fell cross
Marko is a Fell X who is on loan to us. He has a smooth forward canter and big trot. He’s one of the favourites on the yard and used by all levels and ages.

Merlin shetland x cob
Merlin is a Shetland x cob on loan to us from the Isle of Bute where he grew up with Ace and Mac. He was backed at the yard and is a little pocket rocket with a big jump. He has the thickest fur known to man.

Polly bay british riding pony
Polly is a British Riding Pony on loan to us from a family home where she was a pony club and lead rein hunting pony. She’s settled right in with us and is once again teaching children their first canters.

Shadow clydesdale irish draught
Shadow is our resident gentle giant who was gifted to us on his retirement from hunting. He now leads a sedate lifestyle teaching beginners. He looks after even the smallest rider despite his giant size.

Shemay thoroughbred
Shemay is a thoroughbred who came to us just off the track in Ireland. She can usually be found next to Ace in the field, catch one catch them both. She is used by our intermediate and advanced riders for flatwork and hacking.

Currently on holiday

Amber is a 4 year old cob x tb who was a Godolphin foster foal. She is now in training to become a school horse.

Lacey was bred to be a show horse and has all the good looks. While she is young, she has a really calm nature and we hope she may become a school horse in the future.
